Parent Governor:

We are currently seeking nominations for new parent governors. If you would like to nominate yourself or another parent of the school, please email your name, the name/s of your children in school and a brief summary of why you would like to become a member of our governing board in case an election needs to take place if we have more candidates than posts. Please find a message from the Chair of Trustees, Andy Bell:

“It takes a village to raise a child”

In this case I’m talking about almost 300 amazing children that we have at Bourton Primary and how we use our community to invest in their development during these critical early years.

We have a remarkable team of staff, volunteers and governors that work closely to ensure the school is a safe and effective learning environment for all; as the Chair of our Governing Body, and also a parent to two of Bourton’s pupils, I am proud to lead this vital supporting function.

We have an urgent need to build our numbers to replace recent retirements from our team, particularly from parents, and so I am reaching out to you for your help in ensuring our continued success. Parenting is a job in itself, but with that comes a wealth and breadth of knowledge which is so important to bring diversity of thought to our team in supporting the future of the children. And so, with this in mind, I appeal to anyone who feels they have the time, energy and passion to bring their experience to our great team, to reach out and explore this wonderful volunteer opportunity that sits central to the education of your children.

Please apply via the advertised opportunity on the school website; an official process will then be followed to vote in successful applicants. Should you wish to know more about the role in detail, please visit the school or email Chair@bourton.school where I will be more than happy to arrange an opportunity to discuss; equally, grab me on the school run on the rare occasion I'm able to give Clare a break! I look forward to hearing from you.

Andy
